MEET THE BAND!
Rush Creek was formed by Singer Rory Price in 2009. It has seen several line up changes over the years, but the current lineup is probably the greatest so far. Featuring Rory on Vocals and Rhythm Guitar, Tom Clements on Steel Guitar, Gerald Berger on Bass, Danny Tice on Lead Guitar and Joel Campbell on drums.
Rory Price
Lead vocals Rhythm guitar:
Rory was born and raised in the small southeast Texas town of Groves. He discovered Merle Haggard at an early age. Country music was his first love. His mom played piano at the Baptist church in Dam B Texas. That musical exposure at a young age inspired him to pick up a guitar and learn a few Hank Sr. Songs. Rory moved to the Houston area in the early 80's where he met local musicians and started his first country band Lone Star. He also was in the popular country band Countdown for several years. In the early part of 2001, his music interest changed to blues for a few years. He was in the local blues band Blue Attitude and local favorite Trailer Trash Band. He couldn't wait to start his on band. In 2009 the band Rush Creek was created and has picked up steam since. Rory also was briefly a founding member of the acoustic trio Harmony Creek which focused primarily on Texas country with strong layered harmonies. I want to play and sing as long as people will listen!!
Tom Clements
Steel Guitar
Tom began playing pedal steel guitar back in the 80's. Influenced by several steel guitarists over the years, he's noticed a change in the style of country music. He has performed with several bands while opening for numerous artists such as Asleep at the Wheel, Merle Haggard , Gary Stewart, George Strait and others. Tom has been with Rush Creek for approximately 5 years enjoying the variety of country music including classic country, as well as, top 40. Tom enjoys all the venues and meeting all the new friends along the way.
Gerald Berger
Bass Guitar and Vocals
Gerald is a native Houstonian, but grew up in Montgomery County, Texas, cutting his musical teeth in marching and stage band at Montgomery High School. Upon graduating high school he began playing in cover bands in Houston, Texas. Around 1984 he began working with original rock projects in the Houston area, most notably XOX – managed by Lone Wolf Management (ZZ Top’s manager Bill Ham), Misery (with Greg Gilley), Eighth Day, Under the Sun, Irian Jaya.
After recording and touring regionally with rock acts, Gerald got married and started a family in 1993. After a few years out of music he got back into a few cover bands as a weekend warrior.
When the kids got older in the 2000s, Gerald had the opportunity to record and tour nationally and internationally with a reboot of early 80’s rockers AXE (Atco/Atlantic) fronted by founder Bobby Barth (of Blackfoot and Rose Tattoo fame).
While being a starving artist is a noble pursuit, gainful employment has made music an avocation for Gerald as he has pursued local country, jazz, variety and pickup gigs for the last 20 years.
Danny Tice
Lead Guitar and Vocals
Danny Tice jumped from playing pool halls and teen centers in the heavy/rock band- (Arte Pike) to doing bigger clubs, events, and concerts playing country music during "Urban Cowboy" days in the 70's. Later, playing for artists such as Sammy Smith, Gene Watson, and Brian Collins, he learned the music business had many highs and also many lows and trials to overcome. Through the years he sang and played lead guitar in dozens of bands such as: The Brian Loftin Band, EZ Money, Foxfire, FM-3, the Barry Lee Carter Band, & the Posse and got to enjoy opening up for bigger shows with acts like: Perfect Strangers, Doug Supernaw and others. Also forming his own band in 1976- the Space City Cowboys. His band reunited twice in the 90's and again in 2023, with Danny being the only original member left in 2024. But still, the one thing he talks about the most is the times playing at all the Thanksgiving and Christmas parties at his Mom and Dad's house in Willis, Tx. with family and friends. Currently, playing in Rush Creek, he hopes to expand his horizons as the band moves upwards towards bigger and better things that lie just ahead.
Dan is a great guitarist with an extensive resume.
Joel Campbell
Drums
Joel is a well respected drummer in the Houston area filling in for some of the best acts in town and is also a first call studio musician. He has toured the US extensively with various bands and now he calls Rush Creek home. Joel resides in Friendswood, TX with his wife Mindi and their dog and his step-cats.
